Our STaR (Sisters Transforming and Rising) Drop-in Center is dedicated to being a safe space for commercially sexually exploited (CSE) girls, femme and non-binary youth ages 12 to 25 in Oakland.

STaR is a daily drop-in center that provides outreach and wrap-around support services that are trauma-informed, gender responsive, and culturally relevant as part of a comprehensive system to support CSE youth and end their exploitation. 

 

Our drop-in center is a place where young people can rest, play, heal and connect with their peers and supportive adult staff. 

 

We are open Monday through Friday, 11AM - 5PM.

 

Youth that come to the STaR Center will have access to:

  • Life skills and self-sufficiency trainings
  • Recreational activities & field trips
  • Connections to resources and leadership opportunities
  • Home-cooked meals 
  • Mentorship
  • Hygiene items and laundry services
  • A clothing closet
  • Peer community and support groups
  • Community mentors
  • Internships at MISSSEY and partner organizations
  • LOVE

Donor Advised Giving

One way to support the services at the STaR Center is to give via Benevity.
