Volunteering is a beneficial way to make a difference in a young person’s life. MISSSEY Community Volunteers are trained to assist our drop-in staff in supporting youth who come to the STaR Center.

Activities that a Community Volunteer might do include:
  • Cooking meals
  • Organizing our STaR Center clothes closet
  • Co-facilitating workshops
  • Supporting our youth events
  • Packing emergency kits or food boxes
  • Collecting food donations from allies and partners
  • Helping us find our new 10,000 sq/ft home to purchase so that we can serve more youth!
We’re looking for people who are able to connect with vulnerable populations, can respond to youth in a trauma-informed and culturally sensitive manner, and are ready to serve as a role model and build relationships with participants and MISSSEY staff. How to become a Community Volunteer:
  • You must be at least 25 years old
  • You must be available during our drop-in hours, Monday through Friday, 1PM - 7PM  Saturday, 12PM - 3PM.
