Volunteering is a beneficial way to make a difference in young people’s lives. MISSSEY Community Volunteers are trained to assist our drop-in staff in supporting youth who come to the STaR Center.
Activities that a Community Volunteer might do include:
Cooking meals Organizing our STaR Center clothes closet Co-facilitating workshops Supporting our youth events Packing emergency kits or food boxes Collecting food donations from allies and partners Helping us find our new 10,000 sq/ft home to purchase so that we can serve more youth! We’re looking for people who can connect with vulnerable populations, respond to youth in a trauma-informed and culturally sensitive manner and are ready to serve as a role model and build relationships with participants and MISSSEY staff. How to become a Community Volunteer:
You must be at least 25 years old You must be available during our drop-in hours, Monday through Friday, 1 PM - 7 PM Saturday, 12 PM - 3 PM.
